Centered is a shared space. Members work together to create a warm, creative, safe environment for everyone.
Our goal is a friction free experience. To that end, we don’t have a lot of rules and instead emphasize personal responsibility; this means you have the freedom to test and learn! If you break something, you fix or replace it. If you make a mess, you clean it up. But you’re not alone; if you have questions, we’re here to guide you!
Our number one priority is that members and guests are treated with kindness and respect; aggressive, disrespectful, or discriminatory behavior is grounds for membership revocation.
In order to provide a sensory-friendly environment for all members, please keep noise to a minimum. All music must be played on headphones. Please take phone calls outside of the studio.
To ensure we maintain a healthy air environment, we work together to maintain studio cleanliness. The studio will be cleaned and mopped after each scheduled class. During open studio, members are required to clean up any messes they create. This includes wiping down any tables and equipment used, and mopping up spills. Please keep personal tools and shelving clean; dried clay anywhere in the studio, means particles in the air. This practice keeps us safe from silicosis, a rare, but real concern for potters caused by excess silica inhalation.
Be respectful of all tools and equipment. Return things to where, and in the condition, you found them.
Centered runs on the honor system. Members are expected to pay for clay and kiln firings as they use them.
